What is a prompt management system?
A prompt management system is a tool that versions your prompts, works with variable placeholders, and makes them ready to use in your LLM. Instead of hunting through Notion docs or old chats, your prompts are central, reusable, and trackable.
What is the difference between prompt engineering and prompt management?
Prompt engineering is the craft of writing a good prompt. It covers role, context, task, format. Prompt management is the discipline of maintaining those prompts. It covers versions, templates, reuse across the team. Engineering writes the first prompt, management keeps it and makes it usable for everyone.
How do I keep prompts from scattering across Slack, Notion and code?
A prompt management system handles it. Three steps make the difference: central collection instead of scattered Notion pages and old chats, placeholders instead of twenty variations of the same prompt, versions so yesterday’s better wording stays findable.
How does my catalog get into my AI assistant?
Through a connector, technically an MCP server. Because MCP is an open standard, any MCP-capable AI assistant connects. You set it up once, and your catalog is there wherever you work with your AI.
What is the #finds community?
A Discord community where shared prompts, memories and specs land as threads. You adopt entries into your catalog and trade notes on the actual example. You will find the link in the community section.
Is my prompt content stored?
Templates yes, actual values no. We store the prompt text with the {{variable}} placeholders in our database. What you fill in when you use it (customer names, briefings, confidential text) we don’t see.

Do I need a separate login for the extension?
No. If you’re signed into splicelog.com, the browser extension knows you automatically. Sign out, and the extension is signed out within seconds.
